Girl Named Kyle is a fresh, five-piece band in Denver, Colorado.
The music is sometimes soft, sometimes loud, but never weak. It is a collaboration of rock, folk, pop, and indie influences, all topped off with mesmerizing vocals. Electric and acoustic guitars and an upright piano intertwine in creative and emotional ways. Rock drums and bass bring these instruments together to form an addictive sound.
This makes for an exciting, unpredictable, and engaging performance that won the accolade "Best New Band in Denver" (Herman's Hideaway, 2008). Girl Named Kyle has opened for national acts Pat McGee and Steven Kellog & the Sixers and has headlined shows at the Bluebird and Gothic theaters in Denver.
vocals/guitar
Kyle started her first band at age twelve and released her first solo EP at age 15. Her creative lyrics and stunning voice draw a crowd to small and large venues alike. Kyle signed with Invicta Records in 2006 and released the Let's Build album in 2008. While finding success as a solo artist, Kyle prefers working with Girl Named Kyle as a band.
lead guitar
Elliott has been playing music since he was a child. He chose to pursue guitar when he was 14 and played in bands throughout high school. Being a fantastic musician with an amazing creative drive, Elliott is set apart from the rest of the crowd.
piano
Kyle and Pete have worked together since 2004 on various musical projects. For the last year Pete has been around the country and back, spending time with all different walks of life. After returning, he excitedly rejoined the band while continuing to work with underprivileged individuals in urban Denver. With his musicianship, performance skills, and personality, he is a huge part of GNK.
bass
Lauren has been involved with music since childhood, playing instruments ranging from saxophone to percussion. She met Kyle and Pete in 2005 while running promotions for GNK. In 2007, Lauren joined the band.
drums
With his profound percussion skills, Brett has been a godsend for GNK. As the youngest and quietest member of the band, Brett gets picked on the most. Even though he never smiles, we still think he's having fun.
